Generally, you'll want your tank and damage-dealer to occupy the two frontmost ranks. On top of that it still does little bit of damage so it can kill at deaths door with out the stress. For the Darkest Dungeon itself, don't take any shovels, keys, or laudanum--you won't need them.
The crusader for damage and some stress heals (Holy Lance was very helpful in this party) The Leper for killing everything coming too close and tanking everything.
Point Blank Shot can be a very useful front line combat ability, while the Highwayman’s Grapeshot Blast also offers area of effect opportunities when needed. Join. .
